Featherwood is a unique line of colorful handcrafted wood jewelry I’ve developed and produced for several years, sold mainly at craft galleries and boutiques. My work in multilayered bowls and vessels can be viewed on a companion website: buzzcoren.com.

What began as a tinkering diversion over 30 years ago making a few small wood boxes and jewelry items quickly became a fun hobby; after setting up a street vendor booth and exhibiting at my first craft show I was hooked, and the novelty of woodcrafting as a livelihood has yet to wear off. I enjoy the entire process of creating this special jewelry which allows me time and flexibility to devote to my family and still make multilayered bowls and vessels by commission.

I’m a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild and work out of my basement shop. My wife Debbie Littledeer is an artist/printmaker/illustrator whose serigraph and block prints of mountain landscapes, wildflowers and whimsical critters are widely enjoyed and collected: debbielittledeer.com. We live in western North Carolina in view of the beautiful Black Mountain range.
